Visit from Ashford MP, Sojan Joseph
On Friday 22 November, Sojan Joseph MP visited Highworth to answer questions from Year 12 and 13 A Level Politics students. Mr Joseph is one of more than three hundred first-time MPs elected in July, and so he was able to share his first impressions of working in Parliament, as well as answering students' queries about a range of topics. These included the NHS, conflicts overseas, matters local to Ashford, the assisted dying bill and how young people can participate in our political system. We thank Mr Joseph for visiting us (and for the 'Ashford' poster signed by Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner!), and look forward to hopefully seeing him again during our A Level Politics trip to Parliament in February.
