Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) makes a major contribution to preparing young people for success after school.

Our school is committed to providing the best possible careers service to all of our students. Our CEIAG programme is called 'SIRIUS' and aims to provides students with multiple opportunities throughout their time at school to; engage with employers and employees; learn about different occupations and pathways into career; and develop self awareness. 

The purpose of CEIAG at Highworth is to; raise awareness about the range and choice of opportunities available; educate students on labour market information, and how to use this information to make informed decisions about their future; and develop employability and transferable skills. The combination of which leads to students making informed decisions about subjects and pathways, meaning they are better motivated to achieve success.  

We have a duty to provide impartial, up-to-date information and impartial guidance and advice to all students. This is offered via the following:

Internal career guidance: Level 7 qualified, impartial and independent, Careers Lead, Miss Hodges. Miss Hodges is employed full-time and available for one-on-one appointments before school, during school, and after school (depending on availability). Appointments can be requested by emailing a.hodges@highworth.kent.sch.uk. 

External career guidance: Level 7 qualified, impartial and independent, Careers Adviser from Education Business Partners Kent (EBP).  Appointments with EBP are organised for specific times in the school year. Appointments can be requested by talking to SSMs/DoLs/Mentors or Miss Hodges.
